| Chicken Hat!! |
[Dec. 28th, 2009|02:55 pm] |
I used to hate these things but, as with most things that are hideous in a kitschy way [is that like the definition of "hipster" or what?], I love these hats now. My grandmother either bought or made them for my Dad and uncle. My Dad never wore them very much so I brought them home with me yesterday.
The other has a little pillow stuffed in it to keep the... um. huh. Keep the chicken up.... Yeah.
What's worse? A floppy chicken hat or explaining why your chicken is so perky? |

| Writers Support Group |
[Dec. 28th, 2009|01:54 pm] |
Why: Creative types need each other, writing is a lonely kinda business.
What: Are you interested in joining a group that supports your work(s) in progress? To talk about the process, frustration and great American novel? No critiquing unless you ask, this is more of a support group where we start off by writing on a topic and then talking about it. Going around the room exploring topics. Casual, supportive. Must have sense of humor and writing materials.
Where: Location based on how many respond. Crazy Wisdom tea room is an idea. |

| Russian Typhoon Class Submarine |
[Dec. 28th, 2009|10:58 am] |

I don't know if this has been floated around or not, but this is a tour of an old Russian Typhoon class submarine in mothballs. Pretty incredible, they are the largest submarine ever built, and to see some of the things in it is amazing. They had full machine facilities, exercise rooms, and even a small swimming pool!

| Time flies... |
[Dec. 28th, 2009|08:51 am] |
I was looking through my Flickr account, and found this from three years ago:

A mere pup of 48 in that shot. I think I like myself grayer and wrinklier, oddly enough. I'm sure that at some point, enough will be enough, but I'm ready for a few more wrinkles before I'm done. :) ( Here's a wrinklier/grayer shot for reference. haha ) |
